Yes that's a hot dog in the photo, but this post is about the ONION RINGS at Monte's Gourmet Dogs because they're PERFECT!!!! Look, when someone starts a sentence with, "See, what you shoulda did..." it's important to listen. My wife and I went to Monte's at The Parlor downtown. We ordered our dogs (📸: Chicago: $9), and when the lady who brought them to us saw that we had purchased fries from a place across the room, we heard, "See, what you shoulda did was got our onion rings." Then she started telling us about why they would have been better. We REALLY like onion rings, but, for my part, I was just thinking, "sure, that sounds fine." I'm pretty sure she could tell we weren't as enthusiastic about these rings as she was, so she got the inspiration to give each of us a sample ring. 👼🏼👼🏼👼🏼👼🏼👼🏼 (👈🏼 Angel choir). These are the only rings we have ever called "PERFECT!" The onion inside was crisp. It was thick and crisp all the way to the center without overcooking. I don't know what was in the breading they use, but it was a PERFECT crunch. And since they're crisp inside and out, you bite all the way clean through them, so when you pull the ring away from your bite, the rest of the onion doesn't come sliding out all floppy. And the taste⁉️ I said, no WE said, "PERFECT!" We told her as we left that there was no way we'd forget about those next time! And yes, the hot dogs are AWESOME! So many options to choose from. I had the pictured Chicago (Beef Wiener, Tomatoes, Onions, Sport Peppers, Pickle, Mustard, Neon Relish, Celery Salt on a Poppy Seed Bun), and my wife had the Bird Dogg (Diced Chicken Breast Sauteed - Garlic, Onions, Red & Green Bell Peppers Seasoned Potatoes Topped w/Guacamole Salsa & Fresh Cilantro). NOW GO!!! GO‼️‼️‼️‼️ 𝄢 𝔈𝔯𝔦𝔠

Montes Gourmet Dogs is hands down the best and most creative take on regional favorites and home run originals. Service was fantastic. Fresh, scratch ingredients. We absolutely will be back and recommend stopping by if you’re hankering for something innovative and fun. Goes well with drinks from Parlor.

If you’re looking for a darn good hotdog, Monte’s is the place to get it. They offer a nice variety of gourmet all beef hotdogs. The Chicago dog is top notch, with the Seattle dog coming in a close second. The whipped jalapeño cream cheese makes the Seattle dog stand out the most. They also offer Cajun /Creole flare with etouffe dogs (and gator etouffe!) I also tried the specialty dog (photo) called The Big Thunder Dogg. It’s backyard BBQ heaven on a bun. The coleslaw and brisket on top of a beef dog AND hotlink result in mouthwatering perfection. Also, definitely don’t skip the onion rings. Best onion rings in the metro hands down.

I had the Baltimore Dogg and my wife had the Houstonian. We shared the onion rings as well. Both were very good! We met Monte and he was very friendly and made several great recommendations. We will definitely be back!

This place is absolutely FIRE!! I got the big thunder dogg, it was so delicious. I also got my self a turtle cheesecake which was damn good! I really likes the fact that they also had complementary chips with the order, Highly suggest you try it. Little bit pricey but worth it! Owner is super friendly too! 15/10 would come back again!
