DRY CHICKEN & STALE TACOS! I was really rooting for this place, the location was cute, the restaurant was clean, and the girl at the counter was so sweet. However, the food is subpar. My tacos had NO flavor and the chicken was cold. I hate when I take a bit of food and the meat is deathly dry, it was not a fun experience. I also ordered a side of beans, wow they were bland! The worst part is that my Mom noticed The Taco Spot uses prepackaged 99 cent ramen for their birria ramen. The staff had the packages oddly placed in the dining area on display. Suddenly, the reason for why the food was bad was upon us, weak ingredients lead to poor quality food. The Taco Spot is located in DT Phoenix, this is a big pass from me. Sure the food is affordable, and they have a self-service kiosk, however, I’m not going to recommend this restaurant to any Yelper. I couldn’t finish my meal…

We stopped here after seeing The Taco Spot highly recommended on Instagram and it did not disappoint. We shared the Surf n Turf burrito and it was definitely big enough for lunch for the 2 of us. Fast service, clean dining area, lots of good picks on the menu, and definitely a place worth stopping by.

On paper, it checks the right boxes—quick tacos, central location, late-night appeal. In reality, the product feels inconsistent. The protein lacked seasoning and depth. Nothing outright inedible, just underwhelming across the board. Service is another bottleneck. Orders took longer than expected given the simplicity of the menu, and the staff didn’t show much urgency or engagement. It felt more like a transactional pit stop than a place that values repeat customers. Pricing doesn’t align with value. For what you’re paying, the quality and portioning should be tighter.

The Birria tacos and ramen are to die for. Absolutely amazing. We saw the picture on the window and came back the next day to try. It's a rare thing to not be disappointed these days. Also, the service was amazing. The cashier checked on us and other customers regularly, and was very kind and assisted an elderly customer that kept needing assistance. That really impressed me. Thank you for the great food, and a great memory!

I was out for a motorcycle ride and all of sudden got really hungry. Found this spot in down town Phoenix called "The Tacospot" and was greeted by Lorena who was very helpful with the menu. Her attitude was everything anyone would hope to expect at any food place. Awesome person, easy to chat with and GREAT work ethics. This is now added to my list of favorite food restaurants to have a great meal. Keep it Lorena. People like are what make people want to come back!!
