Dat Dog is a place that is damn good and a reliably fun spot for a meal. The guys working there are super chill, and the eclectic art inside the place makes for a cool, laid-back vibe. They have a great selection of menu items, with a huge variety of unique hotdogs and gourmet sausages. I took a chance and ordered the Chef's Variety, with a special request for an alligator hotdog - it was really good! It was a fun surprise, and all the dogs are made with great quality. A definite tip here is to try the Chef's Variety option. It’s a great way to let the staff surprise you with something inventive and delicious. While not a must-try destination, I can absolutely say this is a super reliable and delicious spot. If you're looking for high-quality, inventive hotdogs and a chill atmosphere, Dat Dog is an excellent choice.

Oh my god such a banger. We had just gotten to Frenchman street and wanted some sustenance before starting our adventure. Boy am I glad we went here. When I say it was the best chili dog I’ve had, I’m not exaggerating. The mustard was delicious and the fries were good. We didn’t wait very long for how busy they were. There was a vegan in our group and they said the vegan dog was the best thing he had eaten on the trip. Don’t overlook this place!

Dat dog in the Frenchman spot is such a perfect location!!! Came in after a nice stroll on a beautiful day. Got a chicago style dog and tater tots. Everything was delicious and fresh!! The while place is bright and fun with a good atmosphere. The staff is awesome and was extremely friendly! I cant remember his name today but the gentleman who took my order and brought my dog was super friendly. Cant wait to come back and try more!!! Highly recommend!!!

As the vegan married to a non-vegan, we’re always looking for places where we can both find something fun and Dat Dog totally delivered. The vegan options here are legit! You can choose from different plant-based sausages like chipotle, Italian, or bratwurst and build your own, or go with one of their creative signature dogs. I went with the vegan Garden Hot Dog (great deal during happy hour!) and paired it with a frozen blackberry margarita. The whole vibe is what really makes this place stand out. It’s tucked into the colorful, music-filled energy of Frenchmen Street, which feels a bit more local and artsy compared to the French Quarter. Grab your hot dog and wander because you’ll find live music around every corner. Inside, it’s bright, quirky, and full of personality with murals and street-style art. The staff were friendly, the energy was upbeat, and we even loved that dogs are welcome inside. Definitely a must-stop if you’re exploring the area, especially if you’re vegan (or traveling with one!).

Got the alligator dog, I don’t remember the official name. It was delicious, glad I got to try some NOLA food. Also the whole area around it is super busy with live music.
