Unique burger joint in the city! Situated underneath the highway it’s a cool spot to grab a burger. The staff were very nice and offered recommendations on items on the menu. I ordered a single burger with American cheese and all the toppings and fries and a soft drink. Fries were great. Only that 1 or 2 fries were somewhat cold. The burger was a solid 9/10. Very fresh and delicious taste. Was a bit on the smaller side for price you paid. For single patty + fries + soft drink I paid around $18. All in all I recommend checking out Bubbas for their unique ambiance and good food. I’ll have to come back to order the onion rings and try the hot dog.

Houston burger with the bison patty is genuinely the best burger ive ever had, and im a big burger enthusiast. My buddy got the patty melt on texas toast, immediately after his first bit he tells me were coming back here for lunch next week. Definitely recommend, new favorite spot west side🔥🔥🔥

We ordered a bacon single patty burger with all the toppings, definitelycan tell it was handmade. I split this with my 7 yr old and we were full off of half each. A black bean burger, which was amazing, per my husband. A side of onion rings, which are the best I've had in a long time, again amazing. Also, we shared chili cheese loaded fries, and that was great. Our toddler loved everything, especially the burgers and onion rings. Plenty of condiments. All fountain drinks are refill as much as you want. Lady at the counter was awesome, she had a Sisco order delivered and apologized for being late to take the order but it was less than 5 min wait. Overall 15/10 would definitely return. We had leftovers and can't wait to bring our other kiddos back!! So glad we got to experience this place and absolutely love the location since it is between 2 freeways. It was $44 for everything. Then we added a tip.

Visited Bubba’s Texas Burger Shack while in Houston. The atmosphere was casual with a true old-school vibe — the kind of place where the name says it all: “Bubba” feels homemade and “shack” takes you back in time. The location, tucked under the highway, oddly adds to the character and charm. The service was friendly and easygoing. Tried the burger and fries — the burger was basic but good, and the fries were well-seasoned and nicely crispy. Overall, a great spot for locals and worth a return visit. Saluti

The balance of ingredients is extremely well thought out: • Beef patty: Thick, juicy, and cooked to a perfect medium. What stood out is that it’s intentionally light on salt—something I actually appreciated because it lets the natural flavor of the meat come through, and you can season to taste with just a pinch. • Egg: Cooked at an ideal point: fully set on the whites but with a tender, moist yolk that blends smoothly into the meat and condiments without making the burger messy. It adds richness without overpowering. • Avocado: Fresh slices, not mushy, and placed in the right amount so you get creaminess in each bite without the burger falling apart. • Bun: The bun deserves special mention. Soft, airy, and slightly sweet—not gummy or dense. It actually adds flavor and texture to the experience rather than just holding the ingredients together.
