Reagan Nemec 2 years agoThis place is AMAZING. The food was SO flavorful and delicious. I got the cilantro Buffalo tenders which were incredible, and my husband got the Cleveland hot sandwich and loaded fries which were excellent (and not too spicy). The staff were super kind and friendly, explained the menu to us, checked on us, gave us drink on the house, and told us they hoped to see us back soon when we left. They were seriously so kind and combined with the awesome food, we had the best experience. Will definitely be back next time we are in Cleveland!
Michelle Moore 2 years agoLoved the Dete wings! The art 🎨 work on the the walls, was stellar... ✨️! The fries could've 🍟 been more crunchy. The Philly fries was still pretty good anyway. I want to try the street corn next time 🌽😉. Staff was genuinely friendly. Thanks for the free soda, that was very generous 😀!
Jaime Neufer 4 years agoI stopped into the Sauce the City today for lunch with a friend since I'm visiting back in town from Phoenix. It was recommended by a bunch of people as a MUST VISIT in Cleveland. Let me tell you, the SAUCE in this spot, did NOT disappoint! To start the location is great! There's a stunning prime view of the downtown skyline straight out of the storefront windows down the looking Detroit-Superior Bridge. The high ceilings and alternating brick walls adorned with colorful artwork create a fresh "trendy" clean-cut urban vibe that make it a versatile spot to throw a party, have night out with friends, or just grab a lunch and hang! The food however was the main selling point. I saw Chef Vick behind the counter creating the work of art that was my Smoked BBQ chicken sandwich and street corn. Living in Phoenix now, street corn has become a staple of my diet, and this is some of the best I've ever had! The sandwich had the perfect balance of sweet and savory with perfectly cooked chicken that had a nice crisp! Check the photos! It was incredible! My friend had the crispy portobello burger (he's a vegetarian) and he was also blown away by the flavor! These sauces are unmatched! I was extra hungry today so I also grabbed a spicy chicken pizza with a ranch drizzle. It had the perfect amount of heat and was cooked to perfection. I brought some home to my mom, who isn't even a fan of spicy food, and she devoured it in minutes and asked where I got it If you're looking for a new entrant in the chicken sandwich wars that blows away the competition.. SPRINT to Sauce the City before this place is famous!
Chris Callender 4 years agoThe food hall concept of Sauce the City is fantastic! We had burgers, it was Cleveland Burger Week after all, but there are 3 other restaurants from which to choose, due to the owner’s generous incubator spaces for new chefs/fledgling restaurateurs! There are paintings by local artists on display (for sale). The Smokehouse Burger was flavorful, tender and creatively topped with chopped toppings (bacon, lettuce, tomato, etc.), which ensures that you get some of everything in each wonderful bite! The street corn was good and very juicy. I totally recommend this place if you’re looking for a casual spot, especially a black-owned one!
Micheala Roby 2 years agoThe gentleman that took my order was very nice. I advised him it was my 1st time coming in and asked what he recommended. He went with the Dete Sandwich and Fries. The sandwich did have some good flavor but it was not fresh. It was tenders on a bun. The restaurant gives you the option to pick a sandwich, tenders, or wings if I am not mistaken, and I picked the sandwich. I assumed it would be a whole piece of chicken, instead I had 3 or 4 small pieces slapped on a bun. The fries were cold and seemed to have been sitting out for quite some time. It definitely was not worth $15. I think all the food should be made to order and I do not feel like that is the case when I went there. I would try it again if it was free.
