Great little place to grab a burger! Friendly staff that brings your food out to you. The burger was amazingly flavorful and juicy. One of the best burgers in the area. I will be back to try other burger options for sure! The tots were extra crispy just the way I like.

Right across from the University of Washington sits SHAKE and STACK, and honestly—it feels like you stepped into a living cartoon panel. At night especially, the place gives off this Bob’s Burgers-meets-comic-book vibe, with bold lighting and colors that almost look illustrated rather than real. It’s the kind of spot that makes you pause before ordering just to take it all in. Inside, the atmosphere leans heavily into a K-pop aesthetic—bright, energetic, and modern. The music matches that vibe perfectly, making the whole place feel lively and very much in sync with the surrounding college scene. The staff are mostly college-aged, which fits the location, but more importantly they’re genuinely friendly and helpful—not just going through the motions. Ordering is done entirely through kiosks, similar to what you’d see at Shake Shack. There are no handheld menus, and they don’t accept cash, so be ready with a card or phone. It’s quick, efficient, and pretty much what you’d expect from a modern fast-casual setup. They also have their food safety rating posted right on the door—“Excellent”—which is always a great sign. As for the food, the burgers are unique without trying too hard. Nothing overly complicated—just solid combinations done really well. Portions are just right, and everything is cooked properly. I went with one option, while my partner got the garlic burger—and I’ve got to admit, the garlic burger edged mine out. It had a little more flavor and punch without being overwhelming. The shakes STEAL THE SHOW. You have to try it the Nutella shake it is freaking amazing!! Overall, SHAKE and STACK balances personality and quality really well. It’s stylish without being gimmicky, and the food actually delivers. Definitely worth checking out if you’re near UW and want something a little different that still hits the mark.

I happened to stop by this burger place near the Washington university, and it was such a great find! From the first bite, the burger was incredibly juicy and flavorful. The patty was perfectly cooked, and the fresh vegetables balanced everything so well, creating a rich and satisfying taste. Even the kids absolutely loved it and finished their burgers without any complaint! It feels like a hidden neighborhood gem, and I’m so glad we discovered it. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Ordered online and I was a bit late and they kept my milkshake nice and cold for me ☺️ even added more whip cream! Absolutely huge burger and large fry portion!! I didn't get a good look at the inside of the restaurant but it looks like a fun and clean place.

Burger was INCREDIBLE. Very yummy, toppings tasted fresh and the flavor was ON POINT. Alex was so friendly and took the time to explain the menu to me and help me decide what I wanted. Shake and Stack is the BEST place in u district for a burger. My friend Harlan recommended it to me and I’m happy he did!
